From simple home computers to industrial networks of hundreds of computers. We have installed and serviced them all. We know you have a large investment in your computers. We treat every computer in our shop as if it were our own. Each computer is handled with care and respect. ________________________________________ Our Policy The following is a copy of our policy statement that is given to everyone who leaves their computer in our care: Data security comes first Most computers have irreplaceable data stored on their hard disk drives. We do everything in our power to insure the integrity of your data. Data or program loss can happen due to equipment failure or other reasons out of our control. We always recommend you keep backups of all your valuable data. Confidentiality is a Promise Your personal and business files are safe with us. We never read, copy or divulged any of our client’s information. With clients like banks, law enforcement, government agencies, doctors, psychiatrists, lawyers and just plain folks, we NEVER pry into their affairs. And that’s a Promise! We keep you informed If during our repair analysis, we discover problems that were not apparent at first look, we will contact you before repairs are initiated. Occasionally, during shop analysis, we uncover problems that require more extensive work and/or parts than originally thought. We will always keep you informed! Things we feel are special about us! If you just can't come to us, We Can Come To You! If your computer is in East Tennessee, Southern Virginia or Western North Carolina, we will come to your home or office and repair it, for a small service and travel charge. Save yourself the trouble and assle of disconnecting everything and transporting your computer to a service shop. Give us a call: 423-213-5239 We repair most makes and models of PCs. "If We Can't Fix It, We Won't Charge You!" I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true! Too Far Away? Probably not! Many good people think enough of our services that they ship their computer to us for repairs. We receive computers from all over North America. Please contact us 423-213-5239 or E-Mail Us ( cj@pcdreams.us ) before you ship your computer. Please read our shipping page for shipping instructions. What to Watch For It really hurts me to say this but, most all computer repair shops are staffed with either incompetents or out-right crooks. (See: PC-World). Much like the old T.V. repair business or some auto repair places that are run by folks that know little more than you about TVs or cars, or if they are technically inclined, they may realize their customers are easily fooled into paying for repairs they don't need. As PC-World found out in their recent undercover study of both nationwide computer service centers and small "Mom and Pop" computer shops, that somewhere around 80 or 90 percent of them either couldn't fix the problem or sold them hundreds of dollars of unneeded parts. That's eight or nine out of ten! In my opinion, incompetents should get out of the business and the crooks should be drawn and quartered. After spending over 15 years designing, building and servicing all types of computer systems, I have absolutely NO respect for those who would degrade my profession. How Can I Tell the Good From the Bad? That's the $1 Million dollar question! Just because a computer shop looks sharp and well- organized does not insure they are competent and honest. Conversely a dark messy shop doesn't necessarily indicate any lack of talent or skills. One of the best ways to find quality computer service is to ask around, and one of the best places to ask is the local ISP "Internet Service Provider". ISPs deal with hundreds of service needs, from their customers, each year. Ask the local ISP if they sell or service computers! If they do, their advice may be somewhat suspect. If they don't, you can bet they know the best computer repair places around. If you are a customer of a local ISP give them a call, if not, check your yellow pages and call two or three local Internet Service Providers. A few more things that may help you find a competent technician to entrust with your computer: Ask them how long they have been in business. 10 years is a good start! Check with the Better Business Bureau about a particular computer business. Make sure you receive ALL your old parts back. You may even want to put a distinctive mark on some of the more expensive components inside your computer, such as; the hard drive, the main board, memory, video card, etc. Ask for a written statement about how they will treat your computer and it's data. (See our following policy statement, as an example.) Nothing but the best! We use only the highest quality repair parts for all of our service work. Our repair components are generally of a higher quality then the original parts used when your computer was originally constructed. You can rest assured! Your computer will be serviced by the most competent and proficient professionals in the industry. Once you become our client, you can always call us for help on any computer related problem or question. ________________________________________ End of policy statement |
